This policy explains what DUBBset Inc., a Delaware corporation doing business as The Coach's Board ("we" and "us"), collects when you use thecoachsboard.com, subscribe to our newsletter or listen to The Faceoff Podcast, and what we do with it.
The short version
- We collect what you give us, like your email address, and basic information about how the site is used.
- We use it to send the newsletter, answer you and run the site.
- We don't sell your personal information or share it for targeted advertising.
- You can unsubscribe at any time, and ask us to show you, correct or delete what we have about you.
What we collect
When you subscribe: your email address, the date, and where on the site you signed up. The newsletter is sent through beehiiv, which keeps your subscription and records whether our emails are opened and which links are clicked, so we can see what readers find useful.
When you fill in a form or write to us:
- Partnership inquiries: your name, email, company, website and role, and what you tell us about your business and what you want from a partnership.
- Tips: what you send us, an optional link and, if you want credit or a reply, your email.
- Roster nominations: the company's name, website, description and category; the founder's name, title and email; an optional logo; and the Faceoff episode, if there is one.
- Emails you send us.
When you're featured: if you're a guest on The Faceoff Podcast or listed on The Roster, we publish your name, title, company, photo and what you said on the record, with your agreement.
Automatically:
- Our hosting provider records basic traffic information, such as the pages viewed, the site you came from, your type of device and your approximate country. We see it in aggregate.
- Like any website, our servers receive your IP address with each request. We use it briefly to stop spam on our forms, and we don't store it with what you submit.
- Your browser loads our fonts from Google Fonts and some images from beehiiv, and when you press play on an episode, the audio streams from our podcast host. Each of those services receives your IP address when it does.
- Your browser keeps a few things on your own device: where you stopped in an episode, whether you paused the homepage video, and your scroll position. They aren't sent to us.
We don't use advertising cookies, advertising pixels or ad networks. Our own code doesn't set cookies; our hosting provider may use cookies or similar technology to run and secure the site.
How we use it
- To send you the newsletter you signed up for, and messages about The Coach's Board.
- To reply to you, prepare quotes, and work with partners and guests.
- To review tips and Roster nominations, and to publish what we decide to cover.
- To understand what's working on the site and in the newsletter, and make both better.
- To protect the site and our readers from spam and abuse, and to meet our legal obligations.
How long we keep it
- Subscribers: for as long as you're subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we keep a record of that so we don't email you again.
- Inquiries, tips and nominations: as long as we need them to respond and to keep reasonable business records.
- Published episodes and Roster entries stay up as part of our archive. If you've been featured and want something corrected or taken down, email us and we'll work it out with you.
Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter with the link at the bottom of every email.
- Email paulvariano@gmail.com to ask what we have about you, to correct it or to delete it. We'll confirm the request is yours and reply within 30 days.
- Depending on where you live, for example California, Colorado, Connecticut or Virginia, the law may give you these rights. We honor these requests wherever you live, and we won't treat you differently for making one.
- If you're outside the United States, your information is processed in the United States, where we're based.
Children
The Coach's Board is written for adults who work in youth sports. It isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. Please don't send us personal information about a child in a tip or a nomination. If we learn we've collected a child's information, we'll delete it.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards: only we can read form submissions and subscriber records, uploaded logos stay private until we publish them, and information travels to and from the site encrypted. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't promise absolute security.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll say so on the site or in the newsletter before it takes effect.
