What it is

Real game video, and you make the call. 6Tool shows a player a clip, asks what should happen next, and scores how well they read the game when it speeds up. The Fall 2026 Assessment is the way in: $10, one time, for a 6Tool IQ score, a breakdown across defense, baserunning, pitching, rules and situational hitting, and a report a player can send to a coach or a parent. The free tier has quizzes with up to three strikes at a time and whatever content a team sends you, but no score. Premium, $99 a year in the app, is four assessments a year, unlimited strikes and the full content library, including the Clubhouse. Coaches and organizations can run the assessment across a roster and get a weekly report; that's a conversation with the company, not a checkout page. The app has been on the App Store since December 2022; the $10 assessment runs in the browser on any phone. Chris Hayes, the CEO, spent nine seasons in Minor League Baseball; he built it with co-founder John Rosen.

Why it earns the pick

Every coach has the kid who can hit but freezes with runners on. Physical tools get measured at every showcase: exit velo, 60 time, pop time. The mental side never gets a number. For $10 a player gets one, a coach gets a 30-second read, and a program finds out who can think before the game decides for them.

$10 one time for the Fall 2026 Assessment — free tier with limited quizzes, $99 a year for Premium
