What it is

A course for the adults, not the kids. Skye Eddy, the 1993 NCAA Final Four Defensive MVP in goal for George Mason, started it in 2017 inside Soccer Parenting, the parent-education company she founded, and opened it to every sport in 2022. Sideline Project Certified is the core: about 15 minutes, $9.99 for 90 days of access, in English or Spanish. Adults learn the three kinds of sideline behavior (supportive, distracting and hostile), do a short exercise on how each one lands on the players, get prompts for talking with their kid about game day, and take a quiz. For coaches, the Team Kit is free: an email to send your parents, a message for a parent champion to pass along, a seven-day launch plan, a 10% team discount code and a WhatsApp group of other Team Kit coaches. Clubs can promote it at no cost, require it with families paying (the club earns a 25% share), or require it and buy in bulk, from $9 a certification for 25 down to $3.50 each for 1,500.

Why it earns the pick

Every coach has had the parent. Most clubs answer with a code of conduct nobody reads or a ban nobody enforces. This gives a coach something to hand out on day one, gives a club one standard for every family, and gives the adult who crossed the line a way back instead of just a way out. It started in soccer, but it's built for every sport now, and the rink needs it as much as the field does.
