What it is

A youth soccer league built to develop, identify and create a structured pathway for young talent in Africa, starting in Nigeria. Its first season, in 2025, ran 72 teams across six Nigerian states, with more than 1,700 registered players and over 300 matches, by the league's count, and it did all of that without outside funding; season two expands to ten states and 120 teams. Chukwuebuka Ugwu, who goes by Fada, grew up chasing the dream of playing professionally with no way to be seen. AfriSportPro is his answer: a pathway where young players get seen and scouted on their performance, not on luck.

Why it earns the pick

Everything a club director here takes for granted, structured games, film, someone watching, is what Fada's players never had. He built a six-state league out of 200 phone calls and his own savings, and the way he set it up, state conferences, weekly match days, standard fixtures and governance, is a lesson for anyone starting a league anywhere.
