What it is
Seregh, short for sports and entertainment real estate global holdings, is a spin-off of Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment that develops large-scale, professional-sports-anchored mixed-use districts, with youth engagement built into how the properties are planned. Caroline Valvardi is its Vice President of Public Affairs and Communications. She's based in Washington, D.C., and comes from a background in community development finance and in playing, coaching and working in youth sports.
Why it earns the pick
Every club director has sat in a meeting about a field or a rink that never got built. Caroline is the rare voice from the developer's side of the table willing to talk about how a sports district actually gets financed and planned, and what a community, and the kids in it, get out of one.
